Chip Znuff ha encontrado como nunca antes había pasado en su vasta carrera un hogar donde poder llevar adelante todos los proyectos que vayan surgiendo de su creatividad.
Con Enuff Znuff ya tiene 4 discos editados, “Clown Lounge” de demos antiguos, “Diamond Boy” y “Brainwashed Generation” con temas nuevos y el que último lanzamiento hasta ahora, “Hardrock Nite” con covers de Beatles, Lennon y McCartney.
Ahora le toca el turno a su faceta solista con “Perfectly Imperfect”, y si bien no se aleja demasiado de lo que viene realizando con su banda, tenemos 9 canciones nuevas, más la intro de “The Chruch”, y sabemos que a Chip este tipo de intros le gustan tanto como para que siempre haya una.
Para la ocasión, Chip se hace cargo de las voces, bajo, guitarra, melotron; Joel Hoekstra de los solos de guitarra, y para las baterías, ha invitado a Steven Adler, Daniel Hill (actualmente en EZN) y Daxx Nielsen.
Musicalmente no vamos a tener sorpresas, y para los que recuerdan que hay un disco solista editado en el 2015 llamado “Strange Time”, este nuevo lanzamiento sigue esa línea con claras influencias de Cheap Trick, el Bowie de los 70s, dosis de pop y de rock, mezclados con su particular voz.
Destacan “Welcome To The Party”, “Heaven In A Bottle” (co-escrita junto a Donnie Vie), “Roll On” y la melancólica “I Still Hail You”, donde los medio tiempos dominan, y las melodías cubren los límites de chip a la hora de cantar. Se destaca el solo del final de “3 Way”, donde Hoekstra tira toda su magia, y la pop country “Heroin” donde las guitarras eléctricas se mezclan a la perfección con las acústicas y con el melotron.
Cierra “Honaloochie Boogie”, cover de Mott The Hople, perfectamente ejecutado.
