Segundo trabajo de Rian, después del disco que lanzaron en julio de 2017 llamado Out of the darkness y que llamó la atención en el mundo melódico. Siempre vamos con prisas y ese es el problema que arrastramos cuando escuchamos este disco, el otro y el otro y la mayoría de veces nos dejamos en el tintero discos que merecen mucho la pena. Yo lo comparo con ir sentado en la ventanilla de un tren de alta velocidad y ves pasar bellos paisajes pero sin poder entrar a valorar ninguno de ellos porque francamente no te da tiempo. Si alguno no escuchó este disco en su día, os recomiendo su escucha porque tiene temas notables como el tema que da título al disco, o el maravilloso In a dream o el medio tiempo Remember que está muy bien cantado por cierto.
Pero esto data de hace 4 años ya, y ahora lanzan el nuevo trabajo llamado Twenty Tree, una evolución al ya buen disco debut de la banda donde han mejorado notablemente con la incorporación de Tobias Jakobsson que es una bestia inhumana a la hora de tocar la guitarra de una forma que me llega a poner los pelos de punta. Es maravilloso oírle interpretar los solos llenos de clase, maestría y destreza sin igual. Pero es que los demás rallan a una altura enorme también para no desentonar en el nivel general de la banda que a mi juicio es sobresaliente. Todos son buenísimos músicos, empezando por el vocalista y guitarra rítmica Richard Andermyr, un tipo que canta muy, pero que muy bien.
Es el prototipo de vocalista del melody rock o AOR. La batería de Jan Johansson luce a gran altura, Jonas Melin gobierna el timón del bajo como el capitán de una fragata, perfección rítmica se le llama a eso y la bestia Tobias Jakobsson ya citada. Y el disco está muy bien, perdonad que os lo diga, es muy agradable de escuchar, lo tiene todo, buenos temas como el de apertura Stop, las voces de Richard perfectas, las guitarras acompañando un tema de esos de apertura que son los que hay que poner para llamar la atención de la audiencia, la maravillosa In the Dark donde el señor Andermyr sube varios amperios su capacidad vocal para sorprender a los seguidores que supongo que serán muchos después de escuchar este disco.
Pero no queda ahí, Where do we run con un comienzo de guitarra que hubiese firmado el mismísimo George Lynch de Dokken, me demuestra que esta banda no es una más. Tienen buenas ideas y las saben transmitir muy bien. Si no me parece el mejor tema del disco, le falta muy poco porque otra vez el vocalista está tremendo, pero es el tema en sí, en global que me atrapa sin remedio, unos estribillos maravillosos, un solo de guitarra aplastante, una belleza a cada paso que me deja sin palabras. El disco avanza con firmeza y el tema que da título al disco Twenty tree otra descarga de adrenalina melódica donde las guitarras lucen poderosas para apartarse y dejan la entrada del vocalista para firmar un tema muy completo. El pre-estribillo y el estribillo están muy bien pensados, y Tobias no deja de hacer cosas en segundo plano lo que le da al tema un toque poderoso y bello a la vez. Me encanta el tema, al igual que For your heart con unos coros a lo Bon Jovi bien ejecutados y otra vez Tobias haciendo de las suyas. Entre el vocalista y el guitarrista elevan la calidad de esta banda a unos niveles altísimos.
Y llega We belong que me parece una descarga melódica de primer nivel, todo aquí está bien hecho. Teclados, guitarras y la entrada de Richard el vocalista que me recuerda a los mejores discos de MSG con Macauley, a mí me cuesta oírla solo una vez. Qué maravilla tenemos por delante, y Tobias ejecutando un solo que hubiera firmado Jake E. Lee de los tiempos del Ultimate… mi fascinación por tipos que son capaces de crear temas tan buenos como este elevan mis niveles de respeto hacia ellos. Un tema 10. My Ocean con intros en acústico para elevar los estándares de belleza y la entrada de esa maravillosa voz, que cuando quiere es capaz de cantar como los ángeles, y aquí quiere. Y lo hace. Los coros que le acompañan son de una belleza comparables a los paisajes que se pueden ver el globo cuando visitas los fiordos por primera vez. Me parece un tema colosal.
Body and soul otro tema muy Hardline, me gusta especialmente por ese toque melódico que tienen solos los buenos compositores. La guitarra sube, baja, enreda y da giros magistrales, otra vez esa voz celestial gobernándolo todo y Tobias haciendo lo que mejor sabe hacer. Un gran tema sin duda. Como lo es The Passenger, un tema de comienzo poderoso que va calmándose poco a poco, todo lo que oigo me recuerda a los tiempos del Under Lock and key de Dokken lo cual lejos de ser una queja, es más bien un aplauso y la culpa de todo la tiene Tobias. Me parece un gran acierto su fichaje, me encantaría verle en un concierto a este chico porque seguro me iba a gustar lo que hace. Me gusta en Stranger to me, donde vuelve a sentar catedra con una explosión de talento sin igual. Richard sigue cantando varios tonos por encima de lo sano, demostrando que tenemos un vocalista de primera división. Buenos coros y buen tema en general, y para despedir este mas que correcto producto, llega Your beauty con una puesta en escena esplendida, parece una especie de medio tiempo pero con muchísima clase.
Si este disco lo hubiesen firmado los Hardline de Gioeli, estaríamos todos rendidos a sus pies, porque es un muy buen producto, claramente superior a su ya fantástico primer disco y espero que tengan mucha suerte porque estos chicos se los merecen. Son la nueva hornada de los melódico que viene pisando fuerte y con trabajos asi, darán que hablar sin lugar a dudas.
Deberías darle una oportunidad antes de que sea demasiado tarde…

The album progresses firmly and the title track Twenty Tree another melodic adrenaline rush where the guitars look powerful to move away and leave the entrance of the vocalist to sign a very complete song. The pre-chorus and chorus are very well thought out, and Tobias does not stop doing things in the background which gives the song a powerful and beautiful touch at the same time. I love the theme, as does For your heart with well executed Bon Jovi choruses and again Tobias doing his thing. Between the vocalist and the guitarist they raise the quality of this band to very high levels. And we belong, which seems to me to be a first-rate melodic download, everything here is well done. Keyboards, guitars and the entrance of Richard the vocalist who reminds me of the best MSG records with Macauley, I find it difficult to hear it just once. What a marvel we have ahead of us, and Tobias playing a solo that Jake E. Lee would have signed from the Ultimate days… my fascination for guys who are capable of creating songs as good as this raise my levels of respect for them. A theme 10.
My Ocean with acoustic intros to raise the standards of beauty and the entrance of that wonderful voice, which when it wants is capable of singing like angels, and here it wants. And he does. The Passenger, a powerful opening song that gradually calms down, everything I hear reminds me of the times of Dokken’s Under Lock and key which, far from being a complaint, is rather applause and guilt. Tobias has everything. The signing of him seems like a great success to me, I would love to see this boy at a concert because I’m sure I would like what he does. As I like in Stranger to me, where he returns to the chair with an explosion of talent like no other. Richard continues to sing several pitches above healthy, he demonstrated I think we have a first division vocalist. Good choruses and good theme in general, and to say goodbye to this more than correct product, Your beauty arrives with a splendid staging, it seems a kind of half time but with a lot of class.
If this album had been signed by Gioeli’s Hardlines, we would all be at their feet, because it is a very good product, clearly superior to their already fantastic first album and I hope they are very lucky because these guys deserve it. They are the new batch of melodic artists that has been going strong and with works like this, they will make people talk without a doubt.
