Sin duda, la revelación del año pasado fue Nestor. Formados en 1989, pero lanzando su primer álbum de estudio en 2021, Kids in a Ghost Town ha recibido excelentes críticas de los medios y también ha cautivado a la audiencia.
Ahora, con un nuevo contrato discográfico con Napalm Records, es hora de una segunda ronda incluso en medio de los espectáculos para promocionar el debut.
¿Cómo te pusiste en contacto con Napalm Records? ¿Era la única oferta, o has rechazado alguna otra?
Sí, no, ha habido bastantes ofertas y partes interesadas desde que comenzamos a lanzar música hace aproximadamente un año. Pero hemos rechazado amablemente muchas ofertas estándar y ofertas para hacer las cosas de la misma manera habitual. Así que hemos estado esperando nuestro momento, esperando encontrar el socio comercial adecuado. ¡Y con Napalm realmente creemos que hemos encontrado exactamente eso!
Incluso con la asombrosa respuesta de los 3 videoclips, ¿pensastéis siquiera que podrías lograr este éxito?
Siempre tuvimos la sensación de que teníamos algo realmente especial con este álbum y todo este renacimiento de la banda. Al menos eso pensábamos nosotros mismos. ¡Este es un álbum en el que realmente profundizamos en nosotros mismos, tanto en nuestro pasado, en los más jóvenes y en los adultos que somos hoy! Pero nunca sabes qué va a pasar cuando lanzas algo y cómo será recibido.
Mucho se reduce al tiempo y también a la pura casualidad, sin importar cuánto trabajo le dediques. ¡Así que estamos súper felices, abrumados y agradecidos de que las canciones hayan sido tan apreciadas por prácticamente todos!
Lanzastéis un nuevo video. ¿Existe la posibilidad de que repitas la fórmula de los 3 videos y luego el disco? ¿O tienes el plan de lanzar single tras single?
Siempre hay planes e ideas, pero también nos gusta mantener la mente abierta y ver qué sucede y hacia dónde nos lleva el camino, por así decirlo. Pero por ahora, el plan es seguir con la edición de lujo de Kids In A Ghost Town a finales de este año, con el sencillo Signed In Blood incluido, ¡y algunas otras cosas!
¿Hay alguna posibilidad de relanzar el debut a través de Napalm? Si es así, ¿habrá bonus tracks como la versión para piano de “On The Run”, o la versión acústica incluida en la edición japonesa?
Bueno, sí, habrá un relanzamiento del debut a través de Napalm, como se dijo, con tres nuevas canciones adicionales, de las cuales Signed In Blood es la primera. Aparte de eso, es posible que también haya otro contenido y versiones alternativas de canciones, ¡pero el futuro lo revelará a su debido tiempo!
¿Grabastéis algún material nuevo además del nuevo single?
Digamos que habrá más música nueva de Nestor… ¡muy pronto!
Semana tras semana, parece que amplías la cantidad de directos. ¿Se agregarán más?
Bueno, la agenda ya se está llenando bastante, ¡jaja! Pero puede que queden algunos anuncios más, ¡así que mantente atento!

Without a doubt, last year revelation was Nestor. Formed in 1989, but releasing their first studio album in 2021, Kids in a Ghost Town has received excellent critics from the media, and also caught the audience.
Now, with a new record deal with Napalm Records, is time for a second round even in the middle of the shows to promote the debut.
How did you get in touch with Napalm Records? It was the only offer, or have you declined any other?
Yeah, no there have been quite a few offers and interested parties ever since we started releasing music about a year ago. But we’ve kindly declined a lot of standard deals and offers to do things the same old usual way. So we’ve kind of been biding our time, waiting to find the right fit for a business partner. And with Napalm we really think we’ve found just that!
Even with the astonishing response for the 3 video clips, did you even think that you can get this success?
We always had a feeling that we had something really special going on with this album and this whole revival of the band. At least we thought so ourselves. This is an album that we really dig ourselves, both our past, younger selves and the grownups that we are today! But you never know what’s going to happen when you release something and how it will be received. A lot comes down to timing and pure chance too, no matter how much work you put into it. So we’re super happy and overwhelmed and thankful that the songs have been so appreciated by practically everyone!
You released a new video. There´s a chance that you repeat the 3 videos formula and then the album? Or do you have the plan to release single after single?
There are always plans and ideas, but we also like to keep an open mind and see what happens and where the road takes us so to speak. But for now the plan is to follow up this single with the deluxe edition of Kids In A Ghost Town later this year, with the single Signed In Blood included, and some other stuff!
Is there any chance for the re-release of the debut via Napalm? If so, there´ll be bonus tracks as the piano version of “On The Run”, or the acoustic version included on the Japanese edition?
Well, yes there will be a re-release of the debut through Napalm, as said, with three additional new songs, of which Signed In Blood is the first one out. Aside from that, there might be some other content and alternate versions of songs coming too, but the future will reveal that in due time!
Did you record any new material beside the new single?
Let’s just say there will be more new music coming from Nestor… soon enough!
Week after week, it seems that you expand the amount of live shows. There´ll be more added?
Well the schedule is getting pretty packed already, haha! But there might be some more announcements left, so keep an eye out!
