Xeneris, es la potencia italiana del power metal sinfónico, lista para encender la escena del metal mundial con su muy esperado álbum debut, «Eternal Rising», cuyo lanzamiento está previsto para el 14 de junio de 2024. Federico Paolini afirman que «Eternal Rising’ cuenta una historia de resurrección y resiliencia narrada a través del mito del renacimiento del fénix: cada 500 años, el fénix muere y resucita de sus cenizas, asegurando así la inmortalidad a través de este ritual purificador. Para nosotros, es un concepto muy representativo de nuestro viaje musical que renace y continúa, representando también la voluntad de continuar nuestro camino con renovada pasión.»
Formada en diciembre de 2022, tras la disolución de Kalidia (una de las bandas italianas de power metal más populares. Xeneris es una creación de Federico Paolini (cofundador, compositor y guitarrista) y Roberto Donati (Cofundador, Bajista). Junto con la asombrosa voz de Maryan y el genio ritmico de Stefano Livieri. Ellos logran honrar la herencia de Kalidia expandiendo el espectro musical combinando power metal, metal sinfónico y metal progresivo en una mezcla electrizante de melodías irresistibles, riffs poderosos y grandes arreglos. «Prepararse para ser transportados en una fascinante odisea a través de los anales de mitos y leyendas. De atravesar el Mediterráneo junto a Ulises a contemplar la resurrección del Fénix. Es una perfecta introducción orquestal con una voz portentosa y unos coros realmente espectaculares, aquellos que no habéis descubierto la llamativa combinación y sintáis la llamada de su propuesta no lo dejéis pasar. Incluso en una época en que todo el mundo parece estar haciendo este tipo de metal y que ya no hay nada por descubrir atender a esos signos que marcan la diferencia. Xeneris cuenta con una batería muy presente, estos se diluyen para respetar la voz de Marian, una voz lúgubre, triste con algunos tintes melancólicos que desgarra con su fuerza y hace arrancar a una guitarra eléctrica en un potente diálogo.
La sección de metales y rítmicos contonea el peso del disco junto a unos teclados evocadores, donde la delicadeza se impone, brilla en los tonos más altos y centra todo su potencial épico, misterioso e intrigante formando una melodía interesante y muy bien trenzada. «Barbarossa» es el primer corte del disco, aparece un teclado de notas muy masculinas para oponerse a la angelical voz femenina lo que, junto a los coros, aporta una textura profunda, diferente, podría decir de esta canción que incluso podría pasar por black metal sinfónico durante algunos momentos. Se va diluyendo con cierto dramatismo en la melodía principal, que de nuevo se caracteriza por condenar a la guitarra y provocar toda su furia, un duelo a muerte, surge entonces un ritmo rápido a doble bombo que, con cambios, acompaña a la voz, retada de nuevo por el ritmo y los originales coros que dan carácter a este tema. «Before The River Of Fire». Contemplando este tema desde la distancia distinguí dos escenarios que casan muy bien el uno con el otro. Una intro con una interesante parte instrumental rápida y un doble bombo enérgico que antecede a su vocalista abre un tema muy power, otra pieza para que las guitarras rujan con esa personalidad tan presente y donde los coros transmiten casi toda la fuerza. Por otro lado una densa atmósfera se abre paso, buena canción de corte épico que tiene partes de auténtico power metal entrecruzadas con la orquesta, está salpicada de imponente voz y coros, deja incluso espacio para que la grandiosa sección de metal reclame protagonismo.
«Eternal Rising». Aquí si teclado cobra todo el protagonismo en una apertura magistral. El trío inicial comparte una misma estructura, consistente en un ritmo cargado de volumen, estribillos con acordes menores que dan al tema una cierta mezcla entre nostalgia suavidad y afán de superación para crear una progresión e interludios en los que suenan punteos de guitarra al aire con notas muy graves. Esta característica aparecerá en la mayoría del tema. También oirás una voz en off antes del solo que resalta el trabajo de su doble bombo donde no hay ni un momento de tregua, un golpeo incisivo para un final redondo. «Pandora’s Box» un power más clásico basado en los ritmos un tanto más lento, la tónica de los temas de la banda hasta ahora ha sido alternar guitarras con afinación grave y sonido crujiente, con la progresión de sus rítmicas y a todo esto, podemos añadir la presencia de un teclista ya bastante asentado en las bases esenciales del power epic llenando temas como este de un aura mística y de unas atmósferas que también han estado muy presentes . Todo esto es lo que podrás saborear en esta pieza donde finalmente comprime un trabajo en el que está acreditada la presencia de la banda como una consolidación del power sinfónico.
Por último os hablaré de «A New Beginning». Una apertura de lo más melódico que he escuchado en todo el disco para una voz muy suave y armónica, matices, punteos y riffs como apoyo sin desmarcarse de esta etapa melódica en el disco. Retorna a los tempos de Metal más directo y melódico, endurecido por los riffs en la guitarra. Debo decir que no tienen tanta predominancia el crear esa sensación de oscuridad en este trabajo, más bien todo lo contrario, llega en el momento justo donde un soplo de aire fresco se agradece . Canta suavemente y se erige como una ventisca de tranquilidad entre tanta dureza guitarrera, es una maravilla que se deja escuchar plácidamente.

A mí me han convencido y se han convertido en músicos a quien respeto mucho, recuperar la magia con trabajos así como debut y demostrar que toda la esencia se ha expuesto es como para convencerme totalmente, por la manera en la que está estructurada debo reconocer que hay algunas secciones donde se muestra esa maravillosa mezcolanza de la parafernalia grandilocuente de la banda y sus raíces metaleras, han plasmado a la perfección las bases de su estilo y marcarán camino por ello.
