FIRST SIGNAL «Face Your Fears» 2023 (Frontiers Music) Review – English Below

Nos llega la quinta entrega de First Signal, titulada “Face Your Fears”, y para aquellos desprevenidos, es el proyecto en el que las voces están a cargo del gran Harry Hess (Harem Scarem).

No se dan respiro, ya que es el sucesor de “Closer To The Edge”, del año pasado, y nos da un gran placer poder disfrutar un nuevo álbum.

En primer lugar, aclarar que no vamos a encontrar muchas novedades respecto a lo que nos vienen entregando, ya que ahondan en el camino del Melodic Rock, que tan bien manejan. Esto, puede ser una ventaja o no, depende del cristal con que se mire.

Abren el disco con “Unbreakable” y “Situation Critical”, que caben justo para lo que les comentaba anteriormente, y sigue “Shoot The Bullet”, que es un misil al pecho, y la voz de Hess se pone mas aguerrida que nunca.

Pero aparece “Always Be There” y aparece el primer mid tempo que tanto nos gusta y que Hess maneja a la perfección, y junto a “Rain For Your Roses” y “Never Gonna Let You Go”, son de los temas mas “tranquilos” del disco.

Michele Guaitoli (ISSA, Visions Of Atlantis, Kalidia, SheWolf, entre otros) es quien produce el disco y también se ha hecho cargo del bajo en algunos temas.

“Dominoes” y el tema que le da nombre a la placa “Face Your Fears”, siguen la línea de los primeros temas, con buenos coros que le dan un toque mas suave a la canción. “Not This Time” muestra un balance entre los temas mas agresivos y los mas suaves, y vuelve a poner de manifiesto el rango vocal de Hess, quien se maneja a la perfeccion entre los diferentes climas que se muestran en esta quinta entrega de First Signal.

Y casi sobre el final, llega la balada “In The Name Of Love”, una magnífica obra que llega a lo mas profundo.
Y como una declaración de voluntad, el disco termina con “Never Be Silenced”, y nadie quiere hacer callar a los First Signal! Queremos que sigan editando mucho mas material, con la calidad de siempre.

No es fácil mantenerse durante 5 discos en poco mas de una década, pero la banda ya se ha establecido y tenemos calidad asegurada con cada lanzamiento.

They open the album with “Unbreakable” and “Situation Critical”, which fit exactly for what I was telling you about before, and it follows “Shoot The Bullet”, which is a missile to the chest, and Hess’s voice becomes stronger than ever.

But «Always Be There» appears and the first mid tempo appears that we like so much and that Hess handles perfectly, and together with «Rain For Your Roses» and «Never Gonna Let You Go», they are one of the most «calm» songs. » of the disk.
