Crowne es una banda que han demostrado ser músicos y compositores no está reñido con dar a su público música de la más alta calidad. En está ocasión vuelven repletos de acción y habiendo sudado cada nota que han compuesto para los fans, con una sed insaciable de presentar el que será el segundo álbum y más ambicioso trabajo hasta la fecha.
Tras unos años muy duros en toda la escena musical, era ahora el momento perfecto para un lanzamiento especial, alimentar el apetito de sus seguidores mientras llegan esas fechas donde “Crowne» muestre en vivo este ansiado trabajo.
Sin más contemplaciones me complace anunciar; «Operation Phoenix» ese será el título con el que se lanzará el 27 de enero de 2023. Una vez más producido por el miembro de la banda Jona Tee (HEAT, New Horizon), Operation Phoenix » catalogarlo como queráis, pero estos tipos te ofrecen un viaje a la época de oro de los 80’s. Con un Hard Rock melódico que en la actualidad muy pocas bandas que apuestan por revivir ese sonido tan impresionante con toques de metal y power.
Formados por el vocalista Alexander Strandell (Art Nation), el teclista/productor Jona Tee (HEAT), el bajista John Levén (Europe), el baterista Christian Lundqvist (The Poodles) y el nuevo miembro a tiempo completo, el guitarrista Love Magnusson (Dynazty),
Son una verdadera fuerza desatada teniendo un crecimiento notable y siendo muy valorados en parte por ese metal melódico tan bien ejecutado, con todos los elementos que este género tiene para ofrecer. Unas letras poderosas defendidas por un cantante carismático y sobresaliente que llegó con un hambre inmensa de triunfar junto a los demás miembros que completan la formación.
Es una buena banda a tener en cuenta. Son, sin lugar a dudas, el supergrupo más emocionante y apasionante jamás creado en la escena del hard rock melódico sueco. Este elenco estelar de algunos de los músicos más destacados de la escena se unió para crear una bestia absoluta. Su álbum debut, «Kings in The North», fue un claro ejemplo de esa fuerza que fue lanzada con elogios de los fans y la crítica en 2021.
Por eso ahora han hecho lo que se propusieron, hacer nacer otro álbum a la altura del anterior, escribir y grabar una continuidad que pudiera sorprender y superar todas las expectativas y por qué no, así mismos. «Operation Phoenix» se basa en la sólida base de su debut y lo lleva a un nuevo nivel.
Puedo considerar que ha sido un privilegio poder escuchar el disco, he sido de alguna forma vuestros oídos y por eso os quiero relatar a mi manera, lo que ha sido este lanzamiento tan esperado.
Sin más contemplaciones el disco arranca con;
«Operation Phoenix» un piano majestuoso rompe el silencio, con una gran dulzura y siguiendo con una de las grandes alianzas musicales, su batería hace que el tema coja cuerpo acentuando esa carga tan poética que el piano inició. No esperaba encontrar como apertura un tema así, tan elaborado, pegadizo y donde él cantante sigue la tradición del Hard Rock ochentero al pie de la letra, nunca mejor dicho. Sus guitarras murmuran talento y destreza. Y tras un guau, paso casi sin poder olvidar el estribillo a su segunda pieza, que encima se llama «Champions» hay variaciones dentro de una misma pista, la hace un poco más hard rock respecto al metal tradicional o el progresivo. Una canción que no se siente atascada en un solo aspecto y esto es lo que lo hace muy interesante. Se dejan tentar un poquito con la tecnología y los arreglos, pero queda tan perfecto que son el complemento ideal para el tema.
«In The Name Of The Fallen»; Quizá un poco heavy para las melódicos empedernidos de la época y demasiado blandito para los circuitos metaleros en ebullición constante. En esta ocasión la línea vocal está muy cuidada y las guitarras muy correctas en todo momento. Aquí dejan claro el dominio del melódico con una producción europea del Hard Rock. Suenan a gloria cuando la guitarra se hace protagonista y los teclados tiene un protagonismo discreto pero fundamental en todo el trabajo. «Super Trooper»; sonido más fuerte lleno de una esencia ochentera, donde por un momento en mi mente se volvía a llevar el pelo cardado y las mallas extravagantes, noté que los estribillos están a la orden del día, esta pieza cuando la escuche pensé que salía a través del tiempo para recordarme porque un día me enamoré de este estilo, una función extraordinaria que te llevaran a otro mundo.
Cómo en todo buen disco el show debe continuar….
Así llegamos a su mitad nada despreciable con; «Ready To Run» una pista muy bien calibrada. Da gusto escuchar la madurez que alcanza el disco con cada tema que escucho. Cañera donde las haya, con una cantidad de guitarras que son la parte más heavy del disco. Coros imposibles y una batería marcada, potente que rompe mis esquemas de lo escuchado hasta ahora, sin olvidar la melodía del género. En resumen, una canción para subir el volumen a tope. Y por último «Juliette»; La mezcla de guitarras roqueras y vigorosas con unas buenas teclas al frente y unas líneas vocales limpias e intensas. Estribillos sencillos que se fabrican solos, con un buen solo de guitarra. Son la inteligencia letal utilizadas para hacer de este trabajo un digno sucesor del anterior, y posiblemente uno de los álbumes que darán mucho que hablar en este 2023.
Para terminar, me gustaría decirles a los artífices de este trabajo una palabra que marca la diferencia entre un trabajo bien hecho y un trabajo que es delicado y elaborado, donde el alma queda más expuesta que nunca.

It is a good band to consider. They are, without a doubt, the most exciting and passionate supergroup ever created on the Swedish melodic hard rock scene. This stellar cast of some of the most prominent musicians on the scene came together to create an absolute beast. Their debut album «Kings in The North» was a clear example of that force that was released to critical and fan acclaim in 2021.
That is why now they have done what they set out to do, give birth to another album at the height of the previous one, write and record a continuity that could surprise and exceed all expectations and why not, themselves. «Operation Phoenix» builds on the strong foundation of their debut and takes it to a new level.
I can consider that it has been a privilege to be able to listen to the album, I have been in some way your ears and that is why I want to tell you, in my own way, what this long-awaited release has been.
Without further ado, the disk starts with;
«Operation Phoenix» a majestic piano breaks the silence, with great sweetness and continuing with one of the great musical alliances, its drums make the theme take shape, accentuating that poetic charge that the piano started. I didn’t expect to find such an opening song, so elaborate, catchy and where the singer follows the tradition of eighties Hard Rock to the letter, never better said. His guitars murmur talent and skill. And after a wow, I go almost unable to forget the chorus to their second piece, which is also called «Champions» there are variations within the same track, it makes it a little more hard rock compared to traditional or progressive metal. A song that doesn’t feel stuck in one aspect and this is what makes it very interesting. They let themselves be tempted a little with technology and arrangements, but it is so perfect that they are the ideal complement to the theme.
«In The Name Of The Fallen»; Perhaps a little heavy for the inveterate melodic singers of the time and too soft for the constantly boiling metal circuits. On this occasion the vocal line is very careful and the guitars are very correct at all times. Here they make clear the dominance of the melodic with a European Hard Rock production. They sound like glory when the guitar takes center stage and the keyboards have a discreet but fundamental role in all the work. «Super Trooper«; louder sound full of an eighties essence, where for a moment in my mind the backcombed hair and extravagant tights were worn again, I noticed that the choruses are the order of the day, when I heard this piece I thought it came out through the Time to remember myself because one day I fell in love with this style, an extraordinary function that will take you to another world.
As in every good album the show must go on….
Thus we arrive at its not inconsiderable half with; «Ready To Run» a very well calibrated track. It’s nice to hear the maturity that the album reaches with each song I listen to. Cañera where there are, with a number of guitars that are the heaviest part of the album. Impossible choirs and strong, powerful drums that break my standards of what I’ve heard so far, without forgetting the melody of the genre. In short, a song to turn the volume up to the max. And finally «Juliette»; The mix of rocky, punchy guitars with good front keys and clean, intense vocal lines. Simple choruses that build themselves, with a good guitar solo. They are the lethal intelligence used to make this work a worthy successor to the previous one, and possibly one of the albums that will give a lot to talk about in 2023.
To finish, I would like to say to the creators of this work a word that marks the difference between a job well done and a job that is delicate and elaborate, where the soul is more exposed than ever.
