Recién bajado del avión, un poco aturdido y con mis habituales y molestos zumbidos en los oídos, habilito el móvil y recibo una promo de Viri para redactar reseña. Me puede la curiosidad (como siempre), acepto y me dispongo a escuchar el quinto álbum del cantante canadiense ROB MORATTI (Moratti/Final Frontier/Saga) … Literalmente, ¡volví a volar por las alturas! Un sueño de Melodic Rock creado por un equipo compositivo de categoría. Todas las fases de construcción de este disco no dejan de ser un billete de primera clase para volar por las coordenadas establecidas del gran HARD AOR universal…y por supuesto, ¡¡¡yo no me quiero perder ese viaje! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Con muchos nervios ante la novedad, la nave y el disco arrancan. Cogemos propulsión con “Can I hold you for a while”, en las partes más blandas se hace un Steve Perry y le imprime un severo empuje de su cosecha propia marcando los tiempos con su estratosférica voz. Despega y se eleva con vigorosidad como el legendario comandante Goran Edman entre vientos de componente Strangeways, Work of Art o Lionville. Nos apretamos al respaldo, alcanzamos altura y los bellos de punta …todo ahí abajo se hace pequeño y mengua. El sonido “TOTO ROCK” se hace grande y enorme en la cabina del AOR. “Masquerade” gira para encarar la trayectoria de AOR total, con melodías puñeteras que te aprisionan los sentidos. A miles de metros de altura me vuela la cabeza y su voz suena sin vibraciones ni ruidos molestos. La instrumentación vuela al mismo nivel. Su impronta de Hard/Pomp/Aor es sofisticado a lo Biloxi o Prophet de un joven Arcara.
En “Nothing left to say” sobrevuela TOTO onda Frederiksen, se le sale el talento por su fina garganta cual Peter Cetera con Chicago y…y…y de nuevo oigo a mi querido Brad Delp (RIP)cantando voces BOSTON. Completa y cuadrada. Un servicio de bar exquisito encontrando la estabilidad, todo en calma…Épica mezcla de Hard Aor/West Coast con esa afilada voz, como pincel fino que dibuja líneas vocales espléndidas plasmando belleza y calidad musical. “Valerie” es un tema aparte, una máquina de pomposidad esponjosa de nubes AOR blanquisimas., ArcAngel y Jeff Cannata, Jon Anderson y Yes 80’s, Kansas buscando comercialidad, Styx desmesurados y con connotaciones de los inacabados Crossfade y StreetTalk de Goran Edman. Me dejo llevar por el estribillo y ese nombre suena a coro, Valeriee!!!!. Canción Deluxe. “Hold on” es Super Música AOR!!!no desafina ni, aunque le empujen! Cuando ataca las estrofas con ese volumen y con esa pasional y natural estridencia te eriza los sentidos. Es imponente y arrebatadora su amplia gama de registros y su laringe mantiene la gran velocidad surcando un rango casi inhumano. Acrobático y armonioso, sin falsos quiebros su voz es magnífica y los músicos se lucen con el sol a la espalda. No pienso bajar ventanillas ante esta ¡¡¡Deslumbrante visión musical!!!
“For the rest of my life” es mi debilidad…y ese histórico y respirado tono bajo patente “Steve Perry” de nuevo se le escapa y te desarma. Me pregunto… ¿es un dúo con Steve Augeri?… Estribillo mágico y vuelve esa onda Journey a acariciarnos. De rodillas y rendido para el resto de la canción. Pone el avión boca abajo y sin gravedad flotas en un ambiente musical inmejorable. Nos cruzamos con otros aviones, pero ninguno vuela tan alto como el de Moratti. Este valioso tema se merece por sí solo una valoración de 100%. “Stay the night” y bailamos mega HARD AOR a lo House of Lords y Marcie Free con poderes sensoriales. Las canta sobrado de pureza y energía. En Canadá, Rik Emmett o Geddy Lee le están agradecidos y Von Groove fue una gran banda para aprender las bases del Melodic Rock Norte Americano. A izquierda y derecha se divisa un gran país de cientos de artistas que denominábamos “Canadian ROCK/AOR”. La Gloria celestial hecha música para reseñar en ViriAor. Otro 100%.
“Love” posee la esencia de composición y denominación de origen sueca. En todo el álbum nos rodea esa batería y bajo muy vitales, los teclados suenan acomodados y… Joel Hoekstra confirma que es… ¡Dios! Su majestuosa “guitarra total” con solo final 100% Neal Schon es de suprema calidad. Rob Moratti es bienvenido al prestigioso Círculo de Amigos de Journey!!!….con pasajeros desordenados fanáticos del Maestro Steve Perry como… Mardones, Martin, Säfsund, Edman, Hugo, Chalfant, Brock, Augeri, Pineda, Soto…. “Crash and burn” a lo Peter Sundell, KISKE en positivo o como nuestro vocalista canarión Juanma Rodriguez de KRULL… MORATTI pilota sus perfectos e inmaculados tonos altos y agudos. Aquí nadie se va estrellar, pero ardiendo estamos desde que despegó este abrasador “Epical” de contenido musical épico y de voces épicas. Las lead guitars son una bendita locura y planean sin peligro. Temazo!!!Temazo!!!y …Temazooo!!!
“You keep me waiting” es muy Saga, AOR, controlando sin distracciones estilísticas confusas. Es un todo cohesionado y enfocado a llegar a un destino soñado y paradisiaco, no esperes más porque esperar es perder el tiempo. Moratti te atiende al instante y su voz te dejará exhausto…Tony Mills y Tony Harnell también están en la lista de pasajeros asiduos en clase business. “Strangers” tiene un tono medio precioso y lo lleva a la hermosura cuando lo afina con destreza impactante. La canción sigue ahí y él despuntando. ¡Como CJ de Firehouse!! o unos melosos Ted Poley/Paul Paine. Aterrizamos con suavidad y dulzura sobre una pista de Hard RockAOR sin impurezas. Me quedo sin palabras con este final, mi fiebre melómana sigue alta y salgo del avión sin ningún malestar. Alucinado estoy por la experiencia musical que acabo de vivir en un vuelo extraordinario.
